This year, Administration is requesting that we collect a total of $3,965,609 from Payments in Lieu (PIL) and Property Taxation which is $138,898 (3.6297%) more than the 2023 Municipal Budget total levy.

Within this request, Administration is seeking $16,539,338 for Capital Works and Purchases of which $0.00 would be raised from current year PIL and Property Taxation; $3,563,852 would be utilized from Reserves; $3.6 million from long term debt; and $9,375,486 from grants and other revenue.

The overall residential tax rate for 2024 (including Education Tax), as proposed, would be 7.05751762% which is an increase of approximately 3.06% compared to the 2023 overall residential tax rate. With no changes in Current Value Assessment (CVA), a $50,000 property would see an annual Property Tax increase of close to $104.75 whereas a $100,000 Commercial Property would see an annual Property Tax increase of approximately $230.45 for the 2024 taxation year.

Senior Administration has worked closely with Department Heads to ensure that both operating and capital expenditures have been identified and will continue providing quarterly reporting for the remainder of the year to ensure that any operating variances can be better managed and explained.

Print copies of the July 31, 2024 budget presentation to Council and the survey are available at the Reception Desk at the Township Office and can be requested by contacting Aaron MacGregor, Deputy Treasurer or Florence MacLean, CAO.
